YOGA POD TUCSON
45-Hour Hybrid Barre Teacher Training
25 Online Hours + 20 In-Person
Explore where functional movement, musicality, strength, and creativity meet
Discover the magic of barre.
Our Barre Training takes you beyond the class experience and into the purpose behind the movement. Explore functional movement, strength, musicality, creative sequencing, and the thoughtful choices that make Barre challenging, supportive, and genuinely fun.
Come to understand Barre more deeply, prepare to teach for the first time, or add it to what you already offer. You’ll leave with a stronger connection to the method and, if teaching is your goal, the tools to lead with confidence and personality.
What Makes Our Barre Training Program Different?
We don’t want you to memorize a Barre class. We want you to understand how to build one.
Our training goes beneath the choreography to explore functional anatomy, human movement, strength, musicality, cueing, modifications, prop use, and the purpose behind the choices we make. You’ll learn a framework for creating classes that are challenging and creative while remaining accessible to a wide range of bodies.
And because confident teaching takes practice, our hybrid curriculum pairs in-depth virtual education with hands-on, in-person teaching, mentorship, and real class experience. The goal is to leave with more than a certification. It’s to leave understanding the method well enough to make it your own.

Lead Teacher, Kendall Nations.
Led by Kendall Nations, this training brings together more than 15 years of experience teaching and developing curriculum across barre, yoga, and fitness. Kendall is an RYT 500 and AFAA-certified instructor with multiple Barre certifications, a background in classical ballet, and decades of study in Pilates, anatomy, strength, and movement. She has developed Barre programs around the world and, over the past three years, has trained and mentored more than 60 Barre teachers, many of whom now teach podBARRE at Yoga Pod Tucson. Her approach blends intelligent movement and progressive strength with the warmth, creativity, and accessibility that make a great Barre class genuinely fun.
Kendall is joined by Shaelyn Delgado, who brings expertise in yoga anatomy and joint longevity to the virtual curriculum, and Yoga Pod Tucson mentors Mallory, Remy, and Charlie, who support the hands-on training experience.
See What Our Students Are Saying About Our Barre Teacher Training.
The Barre Training at Yoga Pod Tucson provided a strong base to learn the barre platforms of movement, anatomy, musicality and modifications. The training started with fundamentals but built up to a higher level of coaching to assist in developing a class using cueing, counting, props and various ranges of motion.

Kendall was a wonderful facilitator who programmed the barre training to where I graduated confidently knowing how to effectively and safely guide my students through a class. Her vast knowledge and expertise on the subject was apparent throughout the entire training. She clearly is passionate and dedicated to her craft and I felt like I was in great hands the entire time!
— Program Graduate
Kendall, and all of the Barre mentors have a depth of knowledge, and it’s easy to see they are all excited to share that knowledge. Not only that but the fact that this training is taught in a way that recognizes how to be thoughtful to real life issues people may be facing when they come to class.
— Program Graduate
I took Kendall’s barre training after realizing how unprepared I was to teach barre coming off of another barre training a few years earlier. I went into the training with Kendall feeling like barre just wasn’t something I’d ever feel confident and ready to teach. BUT, Kendall has an incredible way of making barre fun, inclusive and really distilling the best practices so that classes feel creative as opposed to cookie cutter. I’ve now been teaching barre for three months and can’t say enough good things about Kendall and her training curriculum. I can’t wait to see more teachers using this method and I’d highly recommend this program to anyone who loves barre and has a desire to teach it but doubts their own ability. You can do it!

It's hard to pick just ONE favorite part. I loved that we actively integrated our learning immediately into movement. It solidified the learning for me in major ways. Kendall is such an incredibly talented instructor, it was a joy to learn from her.

Good Things to Know Before Barre Teacher Training.
It’s natural to have questions before you decide if barre training is right for you. Here are answers to some of the things prospective students ask us most often.
-
This training is designed for anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of Barre, movement, and fitness, whether you plan to teach or simply want to learn more. If teaching is your goal, you’ll leave with the knowledge and tools to begin leading Barre classes in settings such as yoga and dance studios, boutique fitness spaces, gyms, community organizations, or private and small-group environments. Individual employers may have additional certification or training requirements.
You’ll also gain a strong foundation in functional movement, strength, musicality, sequencing, cueing, and adapting movement for different bodies, skills that can complement other movement or fitness modalities you already teach. Some franchise and boutique Barre studios require instructors to complete their own proprietary training, but the education and teaching experience gained here can provide a valuable foundation if that’s where you hope to go next.
-
Yes! If teaching is your goal, this training is designed to give you the foundation and practical tools to begin leading Barre classes with confidence. You’ll receive sample class outlines, music and playlist guidance, and a clear framework for creating your own well-rounded classes when you’re ready.
But we also believe great teachers are made through practice. Your certification is the beginning, not the finish line. The more you teach, observe, experiment, and learn from the people in front of you, the more your confidence, creativity, and authentic teaching voice will grow.
-
Absolutely! There is no prerequisite to signing up, other than a love for movement and a desire to learn.
-
Of course not! You will be given all the tools to be able to start teaching, but there is no pressure to teach.
-
Nope! The format and curriculum for this class is based on Yoga Pod Tucson’s podBARRE class, which is taught without barres so clients rely on their stabilizing muscles and strength during class. Supplemental educational materials are given for if and when the class is taught with barres and how to use them.
-
We love supporting graduates who are interested in continuing their teaching journey at Yoga Pod Tucson.Teachers must have at least 50 hours of logged teaching experience before being considered for a teaching position.
Once you’ve completed the training and your 50 teaching hours, you’ll have the opportunity to demo a class and, when appropriate, gain additional experience through mentorship and community classes at the studio. From there, successful community teaching may lead to an invitation to join our substitute instructor team and, eventually, a regular class when the right opportunity becomes available.
While completing the training does not guarantee a teaching position, our goal is to create a supportive pathway for graduates to continue developing their skills and potentially grow into teaching roles within the Yoga Pod Tucson community.
