YOGA POD TUCSON
50-Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training
May 1st – May 22nd, 2027
Explore the stillness, science, and philosophy that make Yin so powerful.
Our Yin Yoga Teacher Training explores functional anatomy, fascia, sequencing, and the art of creating space for stillness, rest, and release.
Designed for yoga teachers and dedicated students, this immersive program will deepen your understanding of Yin and the ways it can support mobility, recovery, nervous-system balance, and everything else you do to move and feel better. If you teach, you’ll also gain the tools to share thoughtful, supportive Yin classes with confidence.
Yoga Alliance continuing-education credit is available.
Slow down enough to notice more.
What Makes Our Yin Yoga Teacher Training Program Different?
-
Yin is more than stretching, and we want you to understand what’s actually happening beneath the surface. This training explores fascia, connective tissue, joint health, and the principles of myofascial release alongside traditional Yin Yoga, helping you see how these practices intersect and where they differ. You’ll leave with a more nuanced understanding of the body and new ways to thoughtfully integrate MFR into your Yin teaching.
-
Learning Yin isn’t simply learning a collection of long-held poses. We explore the philosophy and history of the practice alongside meditation, nervous system regulation, and the deeper intention behind stillness. You’ll learn not only what to teach, but how to create a Yin experience that gives students space to slow down, notice, and connect more deeply with themselves.
-
Some things can’t be understood from a manual alone. Alongside your training weekends, you’ll take four regularly scheduled Yin classes and observe another, giving you the opportunity to experience the practice as a student and watch experienced teachers bring it to life. Combined with four immersive weekends of learning with Kumari, an E-RYT 500 with 20+ years of teaching experience and training with Bernie Clark, you’ll have repeated opportunities to learn, practice, observe, and integrate.

Meet Our Program Master Instructor.
Kumari is an E-RYT 500 with more than 20 years of teaching experience and advanced training across yin yoga, restorative yoga, Yoga Nidra, meditation, and sound, including Yin Yoga Teacher Training with renowned teacher Bernie Clark. Her work centers around the art and science of slowing down—using stillness, mindful movement, deep rest, and sacred sound to support nervous system regulation and greater connection to self. As an educator, Kumari brings decades of experience and a deeply grounded approach to helping teachers understand not only how to guide these practices, but how to create meaningful spaces for rest, reflection, and transformation.

Kumari is such an expert teacher! She led us through everything at such a nice pace and I feel prepared to teach Yin with confidence.
— Program Graduate
The class structure is very intentional. We were given a layout of the program beforehand, Kumari was very prepared, generous, and communicative. Would highly recommend this course!
— Program Graduate
I felt empowered and supported. I feel like there is still a lot to learn, however, we were given resources, tools and the power of a warm, welcoming leader.

Good Things to Know Before Yin Yoga Teacher Training.
Whether you’re joining us to expand your teaching or deepen your own Yin practice, it’s natural to have questions before you begin. Here are answers to some of the things students ask us most often about our 50-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training.
-
Not at all. This training is designed for yoga teachers, wellness professionals, caregivers, and anyone interested in better understanding the art and science of deep rest. You’re welcome whether you plan to teach yin yoga or simply want to integrate these tools into your own life and work.
-
Yes. The training includes 46 hours of live, in-person education at Yoga Pod Tucson plus four yin yoga classes at the studio. That means you’ll have opportunities to practice, observe, ask questions, work with real bodies, and experience restorative yoga from both sides of the mat.
-
Yes. Yoga Pod Tucson’s 50-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training is Yoga Alliance certified and eligible for continuing education hours for current yoga teachers.
-
As you explore different teacher training programs, you'll notice that many (including ours) highlight that they are approved by Yoga Alliance. Yoga Alliance is the largest nonprofit association representing the yoga community. It is also the largest worldwide governing body that approves schools whose curriculum meet their 'standards'. These standards include which topics are taught and how many hours teachers spend teaching them. When choosing a yoga training program, looking for the Yoga Alliance stamp of approval can be helpful in that it means the program is more likely to be credible compared to programs where the school has not had their training program reviewed in depth and approved.
-
If you have already completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, yes. This training is designed to give yoga teachers the specialized skills to confidently incorporate yin yoga into public classes and private sessions. You’ll learn intelligent prop use, yin poses and sequencing, adaptations for different bodies, trauma-informed language, and how to create intentional experiences of rest.
If you have not completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, you are absolutely welcome to participate and will gain tools for your own practice and personal or professional development. However, this 50-hour training does not replace a foundational 200-hour YTT, which is required to formally teach yoga.
About Our Training.
-
We understand that life continues outside of our 50 hours together, and occasionally students may need to miss part of the training. In accordance with Yoga Alliance requirements, students may miss up to 10% of the training, or 5 hours total, and still receive their certificate after completing the provided make-up work. Students who miss more than 5 hours are welcome to complete the training, but will not be eligible to receive a certificate.
-
Yoga Pod Tucson requires all instructors to have at least 50 hours of logged teaching experience with Yoga Alliance before applying for a teaching position. If you are interested in teaching at Yoga Pod Tucson after completion of the training and you go on to fulfill your 50 hours of teaching experience, you will have the opportunity to demo your class to receive more mentorship and community class experience at Yoga Pod Tucson. If your community classes go well, you will receive an invitation to be on the studio substitute instructor list and eventually have a regular class, assuming your substitute role is a good fit for both you and the studio and a regular class opens up that aligns with your schedule.
-
Yes! We offer interest-free payment plans. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot, and we’ll work with you to create a payment timeline that fits your budget.
