Janina Abiles
Yoga Teacher
What brought you to yoga?
My first yoga class was for elective college credit. What truly brought me was the desire for stress relief and quiet and a bit of fitness.
What’s your yoga background and what are you most passionate about teaching?
I have practiced on and off for about 16 years, mostly vinyasa styles including Anusara-inspired, Baptiste, and power. My fascination with fascia has fueled my interest in yin yoga, so I look forward to teaching that too. My goal is to offer approachable classes where people leave feeling good - whatever that means for them - strong, flexible, confident, or relaxed.
What would your students be surprised to know about you?
For 20 years or so, I have been a volunteer in both dog and cat rescuing and fostering. I currently have only one dog and one cat, but my retirement dream is to have plenty of land and a big enough house for a lot of doggies!
