Yoga Pod Tucson was created with the vision of building a kind and welcoming community, while also giving lots of thoughtfulness to all the small details that make an environment cozy and beautiful. Our space was intentionally designed with the latest in yoga studio technology and environmental systems — including infrared heat, medical grade air filtration, and antimicrobial flooring — so you can simply focus and enjoy the yoga experience you’ve been searching for.

 

At Yoga Pod Tucson, we believe yoga has the power to calm your mind, change your body, help you build meaningful connections with others, and bring you a total sense of health and wellbeing.

How our locally owned studio got started…

It all started when Brian and Lisa Cutts started planning for Lisa to retire for the second time (not one to sit still, Lisa went back to work after 18 months of retirement once before).

As a corporate executive in the enterprise software space, Lisa traveled extensively and was able to visit yoga studios all over the world. During this time, she developed her vision for the perfect yoga studio… a beautiful spa-like and welcoming environment where yoga is demystified through exceptional instructors who lead students on a journey where yoga is accessible to absolutely everyone.

The Classes at Yoga Pod Tucson

Whatever your goals - relaxing after a stressful day, increasing flexibility, connecting to your inner self or building muscle - we have a yoga class for you! Yoga Pod Tucson is a community centric yoga studio in Tucson, AZ with over 90 weekly yoga classes and 15 class styles including: hot yoga, vinyasa yoga, yin yoga, restorative yoga, myofascial release, sound meditation, yoga nidra, kundalini, HIIT based strength straining and barre. Our wide range of heated and non-heated class options offer a variety of yoga practices designed to meet you exactly where you’re at.

  • podFIT

    Build strength and work your core in this high energy, HIIT style fitness class! The perfect compliment to your yoga practice, podFIT is specifically designed to build strength and cardiovascular health. We incorporate weight training, body weight movements, cardio exercises, and high-energy music to help you get results quickly while you boost your mood and mindset. Class begins with a 10-minute warm up, followed by 40 minutes of circuit training and a 10-minute cool down. Temperature = 75-80 degrees.

  • podFLOW-HOT

    Enhance your overall athleticism while focusing the mind and reducing stress in our signature vinyasa class. Set to music, vinyasa combines sequences that move breath to movement to create stamina and improve circulation, with longer held postures that cultivate strength, flexibility and balance. Each class is unique and creatively sequenced, though you can always expect to spend the first few minutes of class connecting to your breath, 40-45 minutes in the standing and balancing postures and enjoying the last 15 minutes of class cooling down on the floor and calming the nervous system. Temperature = 90-95 degrees with 40% humidity.

  • podFLOW

    Sometimes the most powerful heat is the heat we generate from within! podFLOW brings in many of the same elements of podFLOW-HOT but utilizes powerful movements (like plank holds!) to build internal heat versus adding external heat to the room. Expect to increase your overall athleticism while focusing the mind and reducing stress in this powerful vinyasa yoga class. Set to music, vinyasa combines sequences that move breath to movement to create stamina and improve circulation, with longer held postures that cultivate strength, flexibility and balance. Each class is unique and creatively sequenced, though students can always expect to spend the first few minutes of class connecting to their breath, 40-45 minutes in the standing and balancing postures and enjoying the last 15 minutes of class cooling down on the floor and calming the nervous system. Temperature = 80-85 degrees with no added humidity.

    Enjoy our modernized spin on the traditional Ghosh inspired hot yoga 26 posture series in this rejuvenating set sequence class! Build strength, create balance and flexibility and sweat your stress away. Set to music and suitable for all levels, this class includes breathing exercises, a standing series, a floor series and is specifically designed to nourish your spine. Temperature = 100-105 degrees with 60% humidity. Come to class well hydrated and water is highly recommended.

  • podHOT26-90Plus

    Enjoy our modernized spin on the traditional Ghosh inspired hot yoga 26 posture series, but infused with traditional sun salutations! podHOT90-Plus is perfect for those who enjoy the podHOT series but are looking for an extra challenge. Build strength, create balance and flexibility and sweat your stress away. Set to music and suitable for all levels, this class includes breathing exercises, and weaves sun salutations into a standing series, a floor series and is specifically designed to nourish your spine. Temperature = 100-105 degrees with 60% humidity. Come to class well hydrated and water is highly recommended.

    Enjoy our modernized spin on the traditional Ghosh inspired yoga 26 posture series in this rejuvenating set sequence class! Build strength, create balance and flexibility. Set to music and suitable for all levels, this class includes breathing exercises, a standing series, a floor series and is specifically designed to nourish your spine. Temperature = 85 degrees with no added humidity.

  • SWEAT.HEAT.BEATZ.

    Explore a fusion of vinyasa yoga sprinkled with a touch of podFIT! We pump up the heat and the music, and dial back the yoga cues and direction so you can flow and build strength and stamina through mini cardio and strength bursts. Expect to spend the first few minutes of class connecting to your breath, 40-45 minutes moving through your favorite standing yoga poses wedged between core, squats and glute strengthening work and enjoying the last 15 minutes of class cooling down on the floor. Temperature = 90-95 degrees with 40% humidity.

  • podMYOFASCIAL-FLOW

    Enjoy the numerous benefits of this feel good yoga practice as we explore myofascial release work (think self applied massage work using the pressure of tennis balls) combined with simple yoga flow sequences to support the long term care of our joints and tissues. A balanced blend of strength, stretch and release work, this class is a perfect active recovery for the busy athlete as well as therapeutic support for anyone looking to minimize the aches and pains that arise in our day to day lives. Expect to spend equal time actively moving through standing poses and passively applying myofascial release techniques on the floor. Temperature = 80-85 degrees. Myofascial release balls provided.

  • YIN

    Our favorite way to increase long term flexibility and calm the mind, yin yoga is the perfect complement to any sport or vinyasa practice! Access the deepest tissues of the body with passively held yin postures for up to 5 minutes. Release tension, increase circulation and improve flexibility in a calming & contemplative environment. This is a passive yoga practice so expect little to no muscular engagement and to be on the floor most of the class. Temperature = 75-80 degrees.

  • YIN + podNIDRA

    This 90-minute yoga journey includes everything you already love about our 60-minute YIN yoga class with an additional 30 minutes of deeply nourishing yoga nidra meditation. podNIDRA is a sweet, guided meditation designed to slow down your brain waves and bring you into the ultimate state of rest, recovery, and pure bliss. Temperature = 75-80 degrees in this calming class taught in a room with candle light and soft music.

  • YIN + Sound

    YIN paired with a delicious crystal bowl sound bath, further facilitating relaxation with the healing and balancing sound vibrations of specially tuned bowls. Our favorite way to celebrate the weekend! Temperature = 75-80 degrees.

  • YIN + Myofascial Release

    Enjoy the benefits of YIN yoga and myofascial release is one nourishing class! YIN is our favorite way to increase long term flexibility and calm the mind. It is the perfect complement to any sport or vinyasa practice! Access the deepest tissues of the body with passively held yin postures for up to 5 minutes. Release tension, increase circulation and improve flexibility in a calming & contemplative environment. This is a passive practice so expect little to no muscular engagement and to be on the floor most of the class. Temperature = 75-80 degrees.

  • YIN + Meditation

    Looking to incorporate more meditation and breathwork into your yoga practice?

    Access the deepest tissues of the body with passively held yin postures for up to 5 minutes. Release tension, increase circulation and improve flexibility in a calming & contemplative environment. Spend about half the time opening the body in Yin postures and Savasana and then about half the time we’ll focus on pranayama (Breathwork) and guided meditation, lying down or seated; your choice. We will explore different types of pranayama and meditation including Nadi Shodana, Mindfulness, Body Scan, Mantra meditation and more. Beginners are welcome. Temperature = 75-80 degrees.

  • podRESTORE

    Quiet your mind & calm your body with this deeply rejuvenating, gentle yogapractice. Experience a profound nervous system reset with fully supported floor poses held for 5-20 minutes. Increase your capacity for healing on all levels. This is a passive yoga practice so expect no muscular engagement and to be on the floor the full class. podRESTORE is a wonderful tool to improve recovery for athletes, those healing from an injury or illness and anyone wishing to optimize sleep and immune function. Temperature = 75-80 degrees.

  • podKUNDALINI

    Increase your self-awareness by silencing your mind and unblocking stagnant energy. Kundalini yoga is a system of meditation designed to awaken the free flow of energy in the spine. During this healing practice, you'll focus on breathwork, mantra (repetitive phrases), mudra (hand gestures), movements and meditation. At first, chanting a mantra and breathing differently may feel odd, so come to practice with an open mind! Expect to be seated the majority of class. Temperature = 75-80 degrees.

  • podHATHA

    The perfect hatha based yoga practice for those wishing to understand more about the foundational yoga postures, podHATHA offers more time to explore the breath and how to customize each pose for your unique body. This accessible but challenging yoga practice meets you where you are with the use of props and variations. Recommended for all levels of experience looking to deepen the mind/body connection. Improve your strength, endurance and balance, and leave feeling more peaceful and empowered. Expect to spend time in standing and seated poses. Temperature = 75-80 degrees.

  • podBARRE

    Blending the best qualities of yoga, dance and Pilates, podBarre offers a body positive and inclusive environment to grow stronger together. podBarre classes focus on increasing overall muscle strength, flexibility, balance, posture, and core strength, often incorporating isometric holds and high-repetition exercises. Set to upbeat and positive music, you’ll spend the first 30-40 minutes doing various standing exercises including a low impact cardio burst, and then shift to a mat/floor work. We finish with 10 minutes of stretching and breathwork to seal in feeling centered, grounded and connected to our bodies. The rhythmic and low-impact nature of barre exercises makes them suitable for individuals seeking a challenging yet joint-friendly exercise routine and is suitable for all fitness levels. Temperature = 75-80 degrees.
